"In this war, there is a danger of losing who we are."
--- General Joel-nathan Joe
The Jedi Knights and clone troopers are the most visible Republic forces --- and the symbols of a wartime bargain. The Jedi have defended the Republic for generations, but they are too few to defeat the Separatist threat. So the Jedi serve as generals in the Republic's Grand Army, made up of millions of clones. Under emergency powers granted by the Senate, the Supreme Chancellor commands the Jedi and the military.
THE REPUBLIC NAVY
For centuries, task forces commanded by individual star systems defended the Republic, but now a new centralized Navy fights the Separatists. This new starfleet is made up primarily of Venator-class Star Destroyers, nicknamed Jedi cruisers, packed with fighters, assault ships, and AT-TEs.

SUPREME CHANCELLOR
Palpatine was once a Senator from Naboo. He was elected Chancellor of the Galactic Republic after the battle of Naboo and now faces the difficult task of leading the Republic against enemies who would destroy it. Palpatine is patient with his critics, insisting that his only desire is to see peace restored to a war-torn galaxy.
Palpatine's many duties include working with the Senate to pass laws to fund the war and keep politics from becoming a distraction. He regrets that fighting the Separatists has required him to take up emergency powers, and often speaks of how much he looks forward to the day when he can give up those powers. |
JEDI COUNCIL
Yoda is the Grand Master of the Jedi Order. He has trained countless Younglings and Padawans. Yoda stands alone in wisdom and experience and is determined to serve the Republic. However, he is troubled by strange ripples in the Force and fears a lasting darkness may await the galaxy and the Jedi who have defended its people for so long.
Padawans who see Yoda shuffling along with his cane may not believe it, bu the little Jedi Master is deadly with a lightsaber. He is able to transform himself into a spinning, leaping blur if combat is required. In battle, he's the equal of anyone in the Jedi Order. |
Mace Windu is a grim, battle-hardened Jedi and has long been the Council's unbending champion. Rebellious Jedi who challenge the Order's decisions must be put back in line, and its enemies must be neutralized. And Mace knows he's the best Jedi for either job.
Mace is famous for his lightsaber's trademark amethyst blade and for his mastery of Vaapad, a style of saber combat that is quick and deadly---and so aggresive that it can bring a Jedi dangerously close to the dark side of the Force. Of course Mace Windu is no ordinary Jedi. |
JEDI GENERALS
Obi-Wan is a skilled fighter and a talented negotiator, a disciplined Jedi who frequently pauses in battle to offer a witty aside. While often impatient with the Senate and its political debates, Obi-Wan firmly believes the Republic must be saved, as it offers the only real chance for the galaxy's citizens to live their lives in peace.
Few Jedi have seen their names linked as closely as those of Obi-Wan and Anakin. They may sometimes disagree, but in battle they move and fight as one. The demands of the war have mostly separated Obi-Wan and Anakin, but now and again they find themselves fighting back to back once more. |
The Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker is the greatest hero of a Republic at war and has proved his bravery on many battlefields. Yet his mentors Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda also see Anakin's recklessness. They worry that one day he will hurl himself into dangers from which even his uncanny ability with the Force will not be enough to save him.
Anakin's bravery is matched by the clone soldiers of the 501st Legion, led by the veteran Captain Rex. Though bred for loyalty, the clone troops have come to trust that their general will always find a path that leads to victory. |
Joel-Nathan Joe is a legendary champion, famous for both his skill with the lightsaber and his deep sense of honor. He will never break a promise or refuse to help a stranger in need, and the only reward he ever accepts for his noble deeds is a nice cup of hot tea afterwards.
No one commands Joel-Nathan. He chooses those to whom he will lend his aid as bodyguard, messenger or defender, and once he has taken up a cause, nothing can make him abandon it. Those who seek him out never find him, but others may sometimes encounter him after a heavy rain, standing by a waterfall or on the shore of a swift-running stream, his feet damp but his Jedi robes always dry. |
OFFICERS
Non-clone Wullf Yularen has a long history in service of the Republic. During the Clone Wars, he was persuaded by Palpatine to join the Republic Navy as an admiral—becoming one of the youngest naval officers to hold the rank—and the naval commander of Jedi General Anakin Skywalker's fleet. The reluctant admiral saw Skywalker as a reckless starfighter pilot rather than a respectable general; nevertheless, the two served in multiple engagements against the Confederacy of Independent Systems.

Wolffe is a veteran clone trooper commander in the Grand Army of the Republic who serves with Jedi General Joel-nathan Joe. The leader of the 104th Battalion's famed Wolfpack squad, Commander Wolffe proves to be tireless in his efforts against the Confederacy of Independent Systems, displaying an affinity for strategy.
On his first mission with Joel-nathan, Wolffe served on board the Jedi Master's flagship, the Triumphant, when Joel-nathan led a task force to eliminate the Separatist warship Malevolence. While confronting the Malevolence in the Abregado system, however, all of the Wolfpack was eliminated, save for Joel-nathan, Wolffe, and troopers Sinker and Boost. The four were rescued and Wolffe had his unit adopt new clone trooper armor in honor of his fallen comrades. Refusing to let the loss of the Wolfpack deter him from his service, he inspires loyalty amongst his men. |
SPECIALIST CLONES
Rex is an elite clone hardened by campaigns against the Separatists. As Anakin's second-in-command, he has seen the Jedi in action and respects their abilities---though he disapproves of how some of them prefer debating to fighting. Fortunately, his own Jedi general is brave and decisive---sometimes Rex thinks Anakin would make a fine clone.
Like many clone officers, Rex's gifts were spotted early by the Kaminoans. Then he was developed through additional training and intensive programmed learning. |
Cody is a scarred veteran of numerous campaigns against the Separatists and Obi-Wan's second-in-command. Officially known as CC-2224, he assumed his nickname after the Kaminoans, who created the Republic's clone army, selected him for special training. Obi-Wan has come to depend on Captain Cody, and has recommended him for promotion.
A natural and practical leader in the clone army, Cody is a good fit for General Kenobi, to whom he is particularly loyal. Cody's keen ability to strategize, combined with his fierce combat style in the heat of battle, earns him the respect of the Jedi, and of his fellow clones as well. He often works with Captain Rex, with whom he became friends. Cody enjoys a close relationship with Kenobi, often sharing a tension-busting joke with him during intense moments on the battlefield. Clone Commander Gree, designation 1004, leads the Elite Corps of clone troopers during the Clone Wars. He has seen deployments on such heated battlefronts as Kashyyyk. Gree himself wears camouflaged armor to better blend into jungle surroundings. Though a faithful commander who carried out the Jedi's orders, Gree is ultimately loyal to the Republic.
Possessed of a keen interest in alien species and cultures, CT-1004 was singled out to participate in a special training program by ARC trooper Alpha-17 that encouraged individuality. As a token of his independence, he was rewarded with a name and chose to be known as "Gree," a reference to an obscure alien species. |
Commander Fox leads the Coruscant Guard, an elite clone trooper unit assigned to serve as peace-keepers on the Galactic Republic capital. Like every other clone trooper in the Guard, Fox is bound by honor and duty to protect and serve the Supreme Chancellor and the members of the Galactic Senate.
Utterly fearless, Fox is always the first to lead the charge into battle, even in the most perilous combat situations. His exemplary performance has made him one of the most highly decorated soldiers in the Republic army. |
CLONE TROOPERS
The identical clone troopers who defend the Republic are thought of by most Core Worlders as little more than living droids, genetically engineered for bravery and loyalty. But their commanders notice that they take names for themselves, bond with their "batchers," and are moved by the same fears and hopes as any young soldier.
Clone body armor is made up of twenty plates of plastoid alloy, fitted over a black body glove pressurized against vacuum. Standard weapons are a DC-15 rifle and blaster pistol. |
SPECTRES
Sarsat is part of the Spectres, a team of rough, tough space warriors assembled from all across the galaxy. With armor and weapons scavenged from the battlefields of a hundred war-torn worlds, he may lack military discipline, but he makes up for it with brute strength and eagerness to charge into battle no matter the odds.
As one of 5,000 identical Devark siblings, Sarsat is used to not standing out in a crowd. But it doesn’t bother him that some may see him as just another nameless, faceless trooper – give him a planetoid beneath his feet and a disintegrator blaster in his hand, and he’ll take on anything and everything that comes his way! |
As a member of a shadowy criminal organization feared throughout the seven galaxies, the Reaper really knows his outer space bad-guy stuff. He can hotwire a rocket neutron drive in zero-G, melt through solid plasmodic hypersteel with his Hellfire shotguns, and sneak past a FuturonCorp security-bot in under 3.6 quarkoids, all while blindfolded.
Full-time space villainy isn’t easy. Over the stellar cycles, the Reaper has lost an eye in a warpship chase over Spyrius IV, misplaced a leg in the meteor mines of the Insectoid hivefleet, and he thinks his right arm might be somewhere at the other end of a black hole. Still, he wouldn’t give up his job for all the quasar rubies in the M-Tron Nebula…which just so happen to be the very next thing he’s planning to steal! |
Commander Frost started out as a member of the Special Forces, an elite squadron of deep-space clones who are dispatched to the most remote and dangerous sectors of the galaxy to fight cosmic evil wherever it appears. With his heavy-duty space armor and helmet-mounted tactical computer, he's got the gear, the training and the attitude to always get the mission done.
As part of his Special Forces training, Frost is as tough as space-nails, able to resist the mind-control powers of a Pluuvian Brain-Beast, and capable of holding your breath in vacuum for at least 42 quarkoids. Most recruits wash out, but the ones that are left are the best of the best, ready to defend the universe from interstellar threats of any and every kind – no matter how many eyes, claws and tentacles they may have! |
BLU (Boosted Learning Unit) is totally, completely, and 1000% rad. When he blasts onto the scene with his transparent techno-wings and neon-piped high-visibility stealth armor, his beltline display pulsing to the rocking beat of his own riotous theme song, everybody knows that the coolest robot in the universe has arrived.
BLU has a digi-tronic super-computer brain and an amped-up neutron-fusion heart. He's programmed to use his unstoppable VR ultra-cyber-ninja moves to turbo-kick, ultra-punch and giga-zap his way out of trouble...and if all of that isn't enough, then he unleashes his ultimate weapon: an amped-up electro-sword that can vibrate its way through any obstacle. Nobody's more awesome! |
